The liver is an extremely important organ of detoxification. The liver’s functions are numerous and essential to good health. In addition to breaking down substances that might harm the body and removing waste products from the blood, the liver also stores nutrients and vitamins and moderates chemical levels and hormonal levels in the body. Fortunately there are ways to promote liver health in a way that is both easy and delicious: by way of a liver cleanse with juicing.
Juicing
There are many excellent juicers on the market and with a little experimentation, you will be able to create juices that are not only delicious but that can greatly aid liver health and facilitate detoxification. A large variety of multicolored fruits and vegetables is vital to good health and those that eat the most fruits and veggies are the least likely to suffer from heart disease, cancer and many other types of degenerative diseases. Fruits and vegetables naturally contain large quantities of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and antioxidants. Be sure to buy organic! Be informed as to which fruits and vegetables belong to the Dirty Dozen. By juicing, we can expect to use 5 to 10 servings of fruits and veggies on average for a single serving of juice. A juicer will release considerably more antioxidants from fruits and veggies for us to digest than if we chewed them. The only downside of juicing is that fruits can contain a lot of sugar so be careful with the sweet fruits such as carrots, beets and pineapple. And make sure that you re use the fiber left behind in the machine by including it in soups and stews.
